Dan Hollifield
Artist for the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee

Osiyo,

I was born and raised in the mountains of western North Carolina and now live on a part of my Great Grandfathers land. I am married to a wonderful lady and we have two grown daughters, the youngest is also a proud member of the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee. I am indeed proud to be a part of the Georgia Tribe. Over a period of several years I have documented my Cherokee heritage back to the 1600's. I begin making the Cherokee flutes after being inspired by a dream. I make the flutes entirely by hand using tools that I have fashioned myself. I have never sold a flute, I cannot sell what I was given by our Creator. I attempt to do all things Cherokee and traditional as I know how. I do this to honor our people and carry on a way of life that was almost forgotten. It is my prayer that everyone who receives one of the flutes will find peace and tranquility in playing the flute.

Wado,

Dan
